BEEP Painting Biennial 2024

I Won’t Stay In A World Without Love

For this year’s entry to the BEEP Biennial artists were asked to submit up to two paintings based loosely on this year’s musical theme ‘I Won’t Stay In A World Without Love’ a lyric taken from a discarded Beatles song.

From all the applications, a long list was drawn up of over 400artists who were then given the title of a song from a rescued 7” vinyl record to create a new painted cover for it. Each of the paintings measure 18cm x 18cm the same size at the original 7” inch record sleeves.

The title given to me was ‘Colours Fly Away’ by The Teardrop Explodes.

The exhibition will be travelling to two venues:
